Two people, one story, no plan required
Collaborative fiction fails when one side hoards the plot. The narrators in Dialogue app are written to do the opposite: set a scene quickly, hand you the decisions that matter and follow your turn wherever it goes.
How to open a story well
Give three things and nothing more: a place, a problem and a mood. “A night train, a missing passenger, mostly funny.” That is enough for a character to build a first scene you can immediately act inside.
Keeping control
Speak out of character whenever you want. Skip ahead. Rewind a scene. Change the genre halfway. None of this breaks anything, and stating it plainly is always faster than hinting.
Stories that last months
Name the story. Refer to it by that name when you return. Continuity does the rest, and long-running sagas are the thing regular users of Dialogue app talk about most.
